Vehicle lifts up to 2.70 m: options for the typical workshop height
Many older workshops and private garages have ceiling heights between 2.40 and 2.70 metres. For this height range, compact lift models exist that provide sufficient working height without touching the ceiling. The selection is somewhat more limited than for higher spaces, but well covered for car workshops.
Which lift types are suitable for 2.70 m?
For spaces up to 2.70 m, low-profile 2-post lifts with reduced masts and compact scissor lifts are particularly suitable. It is important to maintain a safety clearance of at least 30 cm to the ceiling at maximum lift. Flat car models at 1.40 m height can be lifted to approximately 1.70 m with a suitable model – which still works well in a 2.70 m hall.
What should I check before buying?
Always check the minimum ceiling height specification in the data sheet of the desired model. This specification usually does not include the vehicle height – so you must calculate vehicle height plus lift height plus safety clearance yourself.
