buy hydraulic oil for lifts & presses – the right viscosity for your equipment
Hydraulic oils for lifts, workshop presses, jacks and all other hydraulic systems in the workshop. Here you'll find the right viscosity grades for your application – and advice on the appropriate specification if you're not sure.
The most important things about hydraulic oil:
- Correct viscosity grade is critical: Different equipment requires different oil viscosities – always follow the manufacturer's specification for optimal function.
- For all hydraulic systems: Lifts, presses, jacks, transmission lifts – all hydraulic equipment in the workshop needs fresh oil regularly.
- Advice on specification: Unsure which oil your equipment needs? Share the make and model with us – we'll recommend the right specification.

Hydraulic Oil for Workshop Equipment: Selection, Change and Quality
Hydraulic oil is the energy carrier in every hydraulic system – it transfers pressure and simultaneously lubricates all moving parts of the hydraulic system. Inferior, aged or incorrect hydraulic oil impairs function and can cause expensive damage in the long term.
What hydraulic oil types are there?
The most common hydraulic oils for workshop equipment are mineral oil-based hydraulic oils of ISO VG grades 32, 46 and 68. For normal workshop conditions, ISO VG 46 is the most common standard. For equipment used at low temperatures (for example in cold garages in winter), a thinner oil of ISO VG 32 class may be advisable.
How do I know when the hydraulic oil needs changing?
Signs that an oil change is due: significant darkening of the oil (oxidation), slimy or cloudy consistency (water absorption), reduced hydraulic pressure or slowed lifting movement. Even for equipment that has been in operation for a very long time without the oil ever being changed, we recommend a precautionary change. The old oil must be disposed of properly.
