Lubricants & Cleaners for Lifts: What You Regularly Need
Alongside hydraulic oil, greases and cleaners are the most important consumables in lift maintenance. Greases protect all mechanical parts from friction wear and corrosion, while cleaners ensure clean working conditions and safe running surfaces.
Which parts of the lift must be regularly lubricated?
You should regularly lubricate all spindles and threaded rods (especially on screw-spindle lifts), the guide rollers and guide rails of the columns, all articulated joints on support arms and locking elements, and the bearings of the hydraulic cylinders. For most of these lubrication points a multi-purpose lithium soap-based grease is sufficient – for special requirements we're happy to advise you.
How often should the lift be cleaned?
The lift platform and the running surfaces of the support arms should be regularly freed from oil and dirt residues – both for safety reasons (slip hazard) and to care for the surfaces. A suitable industrial cleaner or degreaser dissolves stubborn residues quickly and gently. Let platform surfaces dry briefly after cleaning before the next vehicle drives on.
