Which scissor lift is the right one for me?

Quality & selection from experts at a top price with over 40 years of experience

Scissor lifts for professional use combine a compact design with high load capacity and precise lifting technology. Models from long-established manufacturers – e.g. B. OMCN and others – are designed for durability, reliable hydraulics and easy-to-maintain components. Depending on the requirements, short-stroke and long-stroke variants, above-floor or below-floor, with 230 V or 400 V are available. Typical selection criteria include load capacity, lifting height, platform length, drive-over height and ground requirements. This creates workshop equipment that pays off in daily operations through efficiency and a long service life. We would be happy to advise you personally via telephone or email.

What types of scissor lifts are there?

Underground scissor lifts

Integrated flush with the floor, they ensure a completely free work surface and optimal ergonomics. Ideal for tire changes, bodywork and maintenance work. They offer a high-quality appearance, are safe to operate and extremely space-saving.

Above-floor scissor lifts

Quickly installed, flexibly relocatable and with a low access height. Perfect for service, tire and brake work; Robust construction, high load capacity, attractive price-performance.

Mobile scissor lifts:

Compact and movable for flexible locations. Ideal for acceptance points, small workshops and on the go; 230 V options, short lifting times, minimal space requirement.

Different recording methods for scissor lifts

Scissor lifts are available in various versions, which differ in their mounting technology and intended use:

Double scissor lifts

This type has short driving surfaces and lifts the vehicle directly at the defined lifting points. They are ideal for service work, wrapping, bodywork and smart repair tasks. They are available both as short-lift platforms with a lifting height of up to approx. 1 m and as high-lift versions with a lifting height of up to 2 m.

Driving surface scissor lifts

Scissor lifts of this type have two large, drivable platforms. They can optionally be equipped with a wheel-free jack - an integrated additional scissor that raises the vehicle again at the regular lifting points. Alternatively, an axle-free jack can be used, which can be moved on rollers between the two driving surfaces and can specifically lift individual axles. This design is ideal for service acceptance, wheel alignment, joint play tests and all work where free wheels or a stable, horizontal vehicle position are required.

Which scissor lift for which job?

„Karosserie

Body work

All-round access to the vehicle and a comfortable working height for precise work can be ideally carried out using mobile or short-stroke solutions.

„Reifenwechsel

Changing tires

Because a high-quality scissor lift delivers strong performance even at low heights, it is ideal for quick service jobs. Our experience speaks for mobile or short-stroke solutions.

„Service

All-round service

From small service to complete repairs - uncomplicated and efficient, we recommend a stationary, electro-hydraulic platform with a higher load capacity, optionally as an underfloor version for maximum freedom of movement.

Frequently asked questions about scissor lifts

Can I set up the stage anywhere?

In principle, the floor requirements specified by the manufacturer must be adhered to for all versions. Underfloor models also require a suitable installation shaft and an appropriately tested floor structure. The manufacturer's information on concrete quality, floor thickness and anchoring are crucial. We will be happy to support you in checking the requirements.

What are the advantages of a scissor lift?

Depending on the model, it is suitable for a wide range of maintenance and repair work - mobile or stationary. From motorcycles to trucks and even armored vehicles: our strongest scissor lifts lift up to 60 tons. The uniform scissor movement ensures optimal load distribution.

How does a scissor lift work?

An electric motor drives a hydraulic pump that delivers oil to the cylinders. The cylinders extend, raise the scissor structure and bring the vehicle to working height. The oil flows back via a drain valve; the stage lowers in a controlled manner.

How much does a scissor lift cost?

Mobile short-stroke variants usually start at around 2,000-4,000 € and are usually designed for loads of around 3 tons. Scissor lifts with full lifting height start at around €4,000, depending on the load capacity, equipment and design.

Is a floor-level (underfloor) installation possible?

Yes. Underfloor stages create a continuous, floor-level surface. The prerequisites are an installation shaft, suitable concrete and correct cable/service routing. The planning should ideally be included in the new building/conversion.

230 V or 400 V – which is better?

230 V offers flexible installation and is sufficient for many car applications. 400V delivers faster lift times and reserves for heavy vehicles and continuous use. The choice depends on the vehicle mix, frequency of use and infrastructure.

How long does assembly and acceptance take?

Many models are already around 80% pre-assembled and can be installed in about half a day. The acceptance or initial UVV inspection is carried out by a lifting platform fitter or a testing centre such as TÜV or DEKRA. Our team will be happy to assist you with scheduling and instruction.

What maintenance is required?

Daily visual inspections, regular lubrication according to plan and annual UVV/safety inspection. It is best to check the hydraulic oil level and wearing parts (e.g. hoses, seals, rubber blocks) regularly.

Our scissor lifts are CE-compliant and designed according to DIN EN 1493. Safety features: mechanical pawls, emergency lowering, limit switch, synchronization and overload protection.

Depending on the model, very low overall height, ideal for lowered vehicles. You can find exact millimeter information in the technical data of the respective stage.

Typically approx. 1.9-2.0 m. This means you can work ergonomically while standing with all-round access. Please check the model-related values in the data sheet.

Mobile stages offer flexibility and easy relocation. Stationary variants are optimized for higher loads, faster lifting times and continuous use.

From cars to large SUVs and – depending on the load capacity and platform length – also vans. Important: Compare the total weight, wheelbase and mount/adapter with the specifications.

For many vehicles, standard rubber plates are sufficient. In some cases, however, vehicle-specific rubber pads or adapters make sense in order to optimally hit the approved mounting points and protect the body.

Electro-hydraulic drives operate moderately loudly. The volume varies depending on the pump/performance. For noise-sensitive areas, we recommend installing the control unit separately.

Daily visual inspection, weekly lubrication points check, quarterly function check, annual UVV/safety inspection. Check/replace hydraulic oil level, hoses and seals regularly.

Operating instructions, foundation and anchoring diagram, electrical connection diagrams, maintenance diagram and test certificates for the initial acceptance.

Yes. In addition to the lifting height, there must be sufficient upward safety distance - for example to the ceiling, lights or gates. The following applies as a guideline: lifting height + vehicle height + approx. 20-30 cm reserve.

The flatness affects hub synchronicity and safety. Deviations outside the manufacturer's tolerances should be corrected by compensating mass/underlays before installation.

Scissor unit, unit/control, anchoring material, basic accessories (rubber blocks/ramp plates depending on the model), documentation. Optional: extensions, mobile kits, oil filling.

Only with models designed for this purpose and corrosion-resistant components. Pay attention to IP protection classes, drainage of the shaft (if underground) and weather protection of the unit.

Depending on the manufacturer. The usual time is 12-24 months, sometimes different for wear parts. Extended service packages are available upon request.

For common SUVs we recommend a load capacity of 3.5-4.0 t. Check the vehicle weight and wheelbase and compare these with the platform length and mounting adapters. We would be happy to advise you personally.
