Oil Equipment for the Workshop: Efficiency and Cleanliness During Oil Changes

Oil changes are among the most frequent service jobs in the automotive workshop. With the right equipment, they are done quickly, cleanly and without hassle – no mess on the workshop floor and no laborious manual work. Professional oil extraction units and oil filling pumps make the difference between a swift service operation and a tedious manual job.

What oil equipment does a car workshop need?

For regular workshop operation, at least one oil extraction pump (electric or pneumatic) and an oil filling pump are recommended. The extraction pump draws out the used oil via the dipstick channel – without removing the drain plug, quickly and cleanly. The filling pump fills the new oil precisely – no overfilling, no spillage. A used oil container for storage until collection and oil funnels for manual filling operations are also useful additions.

Electric or pneumatic – which is better?

Electric oil extraction units are more flexible as they don't require a compressed air supply. Pneumatic models are faster and more powerful but dependent on a compressed air system. For workshops with a central compressed air supply, a pneumatic pump is often the more efficient choice. For workshops without compressed air at every lift bay, electric models are better suited.
