Which types of transmission jacks are available?
Hydraulic transmission jacks are operated by foot pump or hand pump and are the most common design. Electro-hydraulic models enable lifting at the push of a button – more comfortable for very frequent use. For the saddle mechanism there are universally adjustable models for various gearbox geometries as well as specific mounts for certain vehicle types.
What should I look for when buying a transmission jack?
Important: sufficient load capacity (heaviest gearbox in the business plus safety margin), sufficient lift height for removal under the vehicle lift, a stable tiltable transmission saddle for flexible alignment, and good rolling mobility under the lift. For commercial vehicles with heavy manual or automatic gearboxes, models with higher load capacity are recommended.
