Mobile or anchored?
The first fundamental difference
How flexible do you want to be? Mobile lifts can be quickly moved or used temporarily - ideal for multi-purpose areas, additional capacities, seasonal peaks or areas without a foundation. They require little installation effort and usually cover medium loads. Stationary platforms are firmly integrated into the work flow, require a foundation and precise assembly, but offer a very wide range of load capacities up to heavy commercial vehicles as well as maximum precision with high utilization. Conclusion: When it comes to mobility and temporary use, mobile is the right choice. If efficiency, repeatability and long-term process integration count, a stationary, anchored solution is the better option.

Do I need a foundation for my lift?
Floors of class C20/25 are common, at least 20-25 cm thick, without cracks. If your floor meets this requirement, the models do not need any explicit reinforcement. However, anchoring must be done carefully with anchors. You can find the exact requirements in the manufacturer's respective data sheet.
What power connections are required?
Depending on the model: 230 V or 400 V (three-phase current). Spindle lifts almost always require 400V, with hydraulic ones there are 230V / 400V versions. Check the technical data and have the connection carried out by a specialist company.
What minimum ceiling height do I need?
Depending on the vehicle and platform: usually 3.2–4.0 m for cars/SUVs with 2-post platforms. For vans correspondingly more. Please always check the lifting height and vehicle height plus safety distance.
Which hydraulic oil do I need?
Usually HLP 32 or HLP 46 according to manufacturer approval. Pay attention to temperature range, viscosity and additives. Mixing different oils should be avoided at all costs. You can find the right oils in our shop in the hydraulic oils section.
How does the delivery and assembly of a lifting platform work?
After ordering, we will coordinate the delivery date and, if requested, the installation and assembly with you. Our fitters take care of installation, commissioning and safety testing in accordance with DGUV/UVV. Depending on the stage type, assembly takes 1-2 days including measurement, doweling/anchoring and functional testing; For underfloor stages it will take longer due to the necessary floor cutouts.
What types of lifts are there and what are they suitable for?
1-post lifts: compact for narrow spaces, ideal for bodywork and partial repairs. 2-pillars: universal for cars/SUVs, chassis, brakes, body. Short/long scissors: tire and quick service, long also wheel alignment. 4 columns: stable for surveying, test lanes, heavy vehicles. Motorcycle: especially for bikes, secure fixation. Underfloor/installation: universal, space-saving, but requires construction work. Mobile: can be used flexibly, ideal for changing workplaces.
Which drive technology is more durable?
Both systems are long-lasting if they are maintained correctly. Spindles are impressive in tough continuous operation, hydraulics score points with fewer mechanical wear parts - the service life depends primarily on care, application profile and quality of the components. What safety features should a lift have?
Load securing (locking mechanism/closing hook), limit switch, emergency stop, hose rupture protection (hydraulic), ASO foot protection strips for scissors, CE conformity and clearly visible load/receiving points.
Which legal tests are required?
Lifts are work equipment and are subject to BetrSichV and DGUV regulation 54. An annual UVV/safety inspection by qualified persons is mandatory.
Which stage is suitable for low sports cars?
Choose a model with a low pickup height with flat arms, optionally with ramps or underfloor platforms that are installed at ground level.
Can I safely lift electric vehicles with a 2-column platform?
Yes, provided you use the HV-safe mounting points defined by the vehicle manufacturer and use suitable rubber plates/adapters. Also pay attention to the additional weight of EVs when it comes to carrying capacity. If you have any questions, we will be happy to advise you.
Which lifts are suitable for wheel alignment?
4-column lifts with axle free jacks and turntables/sliding plates as well as long scissor lifts with integrated turntables/sliding plates are particularly suitable for wheel alignment. A level platform, precise measurement, sufficient load capacity and free access for sensors/cameras are crucial; Mobile, 2-column and short scissor lifts are generally unsuitable for this.
