Motorcycle lifts - Service and maintenance for motorcycles at a professional level

Bring your project to eye level.

For every motorcyclist - whether a hobby mechanic or professional mechanic – a reliable lifting platform is the basis for safe, ergonomic and efficient work. No more uncomfortable positions on the workshop floor! With the right motorcycle lift, you can bring your bike to the ideal working height and carry out maintenance and repair work comfortably and precisely.

Why a motorcycle lift is indispensable.

In contrast to universal car lifts, motorcycle lifts are tailored precisely to the specific requirements of two-wheeled vehicles. The decisive advantage lies in the secure hold: special wheel clamps and additional fastening devices secure the motorcycle in place and reliably prevent dangerous tipping over during work. This stability creates the basis for optimal accessibility, as the well thought-out design allows free access to all important components such as the engine, chassis, wheels and chain. The platforms demonstrate a high level of flexibility: whether it's a heavy chopper, a light athlete or a massive tourer - they are designed for a variety of models and weight classes. This is rounded off by a space-saving design, as many models are so compact that they can be easily stored away when not in use - ideal for smaller workshops or the garage at home. We'll be happy to advise you.

Which motorcycle lifts are available?

Manual-hydraulic motorcycle lifts

The reliable classic for your workshop. You can operate this lift conveniently using a foot pump, completely independent of power connections. With just a few powerful strokes you can bring your motorcycle continuously to the desired height. The lowering takes place just as sensitively via a separate valve.

Motorcycle lifts with air-hydraulic drive

Air-hydraulic lifts offer you a powerful and flexible solution for your workshop. Connected to a compressor, the pneumatic drive takes over all the lifting work for you. You can easily control the raising and lowering using the foot pedal. This comfort is a huge advantage, especially with heavy machines. This combination of power, speed and flexibility makes them a favorite in many workshops.

Motorcycle lifts with hydraulic unit via joystick

Electro-hydraulic lifts offer you comfort and efficiency at the push of a button via joystick. An integrated electric motor drives the hydraulic pump and takes care of all the lifting work for you. Raising and lowering is done effortlessly at the push of a button and is usually faster than pumping by foot. This is a big advantage, especially with heavy motorcycles. Because of their reliability and enormous time savings, these models are the standard in professional workshops.

What should you pay attention to when buying a motorcycle lift?

The most important criteria when selecting are:

  • Load capacity: It must be designed for your heaviest motorcycle plus a sufficient safety reserve.
  • Maximum lifting height: The higher the platform goes, the more flexible and comfortable you can work.
  • Platform size: The platform must be long and wide enough so that your motorcycle can fit safely on it.
  • Safety features: Mechanical safety catches that prevent sudden sagging are an absolute must.
  • Quality: Pay attention to high-quality workmanship, especially with the hydraulics or the engine.

By bringing your bike to a comfortable working height, you protect your back and knees and work more relaxed and efficiently. At the same time, your motorcycle is absolutely safe. Unlike a wobbly assembly stand, it is firmly fixed, which eliminates the risk of an expensive tip over. This means you can easily reach every screw and carry out all work - from changing oil to chain care - much more precisely and professionally.

Models with a so-called inspection flap are particularly practical for changing tires or chains. This is a removable panel in the platform. If you remove them, you can freely remove the rear wheel downwards without the platform being in the way.

In short: you protect yourself, secure your bike and achieve better results in less time.

Frequently asked questions

How much load capacity do I really need?

Check the vehicle registration document for the curb weight of your heaviest motorcycle. Then add at least 20-30% as a safety reserve. A 450kg lift is a very safe choice for most motorcycles.

How high should the maximum lifting height be?

For most jobs (oil changes, brakes) a height of approx. 80 cm (comfortable sitting height on a stool) is ideal. Professional stages often go up to 120 cm, which makes it possible to work while standing.

What is the advantage of a front wheel clamp?

It is an enormous helper. It keeps the motorcycle upright while you can attach the tension straps in peace. Without a clamp you would need a second person to hold the motorcycle.

Does a motorcycle lift require a lot of maintenance?

No, fortunately a motorcycle lift requires relatively little maintenance. Essential care is limited to a few but important checks. You should regularly check all screws and joints for tightness and lubricate moving parts to ensure functionality. It is equally important to check the hydraulic oil level according to the instructions and top up or change if necessary. A close eye on possible oil leaks from hoses and cylinders rounds off the easy maintenance and ensures long-lasting safety.

Can I leave the motorcycle on the platform for a longer period of time (e.g. overwintering)?

Yes, that's not a problem as long as the platform is placed on the mechanical safety catches. Never leave the motorcycle standing on hydraulic pressure alone for weeks.

Which power connection is usually required?

For maximum flexibility in the home garage or workshop, most motorcycle lifts are designed to operate on a normal 230V socket. Only particularly powerful models, which are often designed for lifting heavier vehicles such as quads or ATVs, require a 400V power connection. The power consumption of the hydraulic motor is usually between 1.5 kW and 2.2 kW.

Yes, this is not a problem for most scooters. However, due to the engines and panels often being in the middle, securing them with tension straps can be a little more difficult.

The construction of a lifting platform is designed for maximum stability when standing. As soon as you try to move the platform with the motorcycle's high center of gravity, there is an acute risk of it tipping over. This can lead to serious damage to the motorcycle and, above all, serious injuries.

First raise the platform a little to relieve and release the mechanical catches. Then open the drain valve slowly and in a controlled manner so that the platform sinks evenly. Never open the valve suddenly
