Which mounting technology is the right one for you?
The right equipment for your tire service increases efficiency, accuracy and work safety. A professional balancing machine or a modern tire changer reduces the error rate, protects expensive customer rims and enables ergonomic work. Feel free to get in touch - together we will find the best solution for your workshop and support you every day with your selection:
- Your requirements profile: What types of wheels and tires do you mainly work on (e.g. cars, SUVs, vans, run-flats, UHP tires)?
- Questions about the parking space: Which space and which connections (Compressed air, heavy current) are available to you?
- Your work volume: How high is your daily throughput? Do you need auxiliary assembly arms or further automation functions for more efficiency?
- Future security & ergonomics: Is the machine prepared for future tire sizes and how can a wheel lift relieve your employees?
Basic equipment or high-end system?
The crucial question for your workflow
How specialized and busy is your tire service? The answer determines your choice of technique. Simpler, semi-automatic tire changers and balancing machines are perfect if you are looking for a flexible and cost-effective solution for standard tires with moderate throughput. They are robust, reliable and ideal for workshops that cover a broad but not highly specialized tire business. Fully automatic, often WDK-certified mounting systems and diagnostic balancing machines with laser and sonar technology, on the other hand, are designed for high-frequency operation. They become the heart of your workflow when maximum speed, process reliability and careful handling of demanding UHP or run-flat tires are important. Supplemented by a wheel lift, they minimize the effort required and maximize occupational safety. Conclusion: If you want a solid all-round service, a semi-automatic machine is often the best choice. However, if maximum efficiency, maximum precision and the relief of your employees count, a fully automatic system is a future-proof investment.

Do I need a special foundation for my tire changer or balancing machine?
As a rule not. A flat, solid concrete surface, such as that found in most workshops (usually class C20/25), is sufficient. It is important that the floor has no cracks and that the machine is secure and free of wobble. Particularly powerful or large assembly machines must be carefully anchored using the ground anchors provided. You can always find the exact requirements in the manufacturer's data sheet.
Which connections are required for assembly and balancing machines?
This varies depending on the model. Many balancing machines and simpler tire changers require a 230 V connection. However, powerful automatic tire changers, especially those with pneumatic auxiliary arms, almost always require a 400 V three-phase connection. A compressed air connection for the bead hold-down device and the control of the cylinders is also essential for almost all assembly devices. Be sure to check the technical data and have the connection carried out by a specialist company.
What equipment do I need for UHP and run-flat tires?
For the professional installation of low-profile (UHP) and run-flat tires with their stiff sidewalls, a tire changer with a pneumatic auxiliary mounting arm is essential. This presses the tire sidewall securely into the deep center of the rim and prevents damage. Look for WDK certification, which guarantees professional installation. For expensive rims, devices with “leverless” technology (without mounting iron) are also the best choice.
How much space do I need for tire mounting and balancing technology?
Plan not only for the actual footprint of the machine, but also enough working space around it. You have to be able to safely handle even large and wide SUV or van wheels without causing any problems. A bike lift also requires maneuvering space. A good guideline is at least 1.5 meters of free space around the machine to ensure an ergonomic and safe workflow.
Which legal tests are required for machines for tire service?
Yes, tire changers, balancing machines and wheel lifts are also work equipment that requires monitoring and are subject to the Industrial Safety Ordinance (BetrSichV). An annual safety inspection (UVV) by a qualified person is required by law to ensure safe operation. Balancing machines should also be calibrated regularly to ensure measurement accuracy.
How does the delivery and assembly of tire service machines work?
After you place your order, we will coordinate the delivery date with you. Depending on the complexity of the machine, you can carry out the assembly yourself or book our assembly service. Our technicians will then take care of the complete assembly, anchoring in the ground, connecting to electricity and compressed air and carrying out an initial calibration and a complete functional test including safety instructions.
How often does a balancing machine need to be calibrated?
For consistently precise balancing results, you should calibrate your machine regularly. A good rule of thumb is to calibrate at the beginning of each season (spring and fall). However, if the machine has been moved or you feel that the results are becoming inaccurate (e.g. customer complaints about vibrations), you should perform a calibration immediately. The process is simple with modern machines and only takes a few minutes.
What clamping range (in inches) do I need for a tire changer?
This depends on your customer range. For a mixed operation serving everything from small cars to large SUVs, a clamping range of around 12 to 24 inches is a safe choice. If you frequently fit vans or very large off-road tires, you should choose a device that can stretch up to 26 inches or more. The maximum wheel diameter and the maximum wheel width that the machine can accommodate is also important.
Are wheel lifts mobile and how are they powered?
Most wheel lifts are mobile on wheels so that you can move them flexibly in the workshop - from the vehicle to the assembly machine, on to the balancing machine and back again. There are different types of drive: Pneumatic lifts are connected to your compressed air network, while battery-operated lifts offer maximum flexibility without annoying hoses and are simply charged from a socket.
Which accessories are essential for my tire changer?
In order to reliably protect expensive rims, a complete set of plastic protective parts is mandatory. These include: protective jaws for the clamping claws, anti-slip protection for the mounting head and rim protection for the tire iron. For the efficient processing of low-profile and run-flat tires, a pneumatic auxiliary mounting arm (often called 'third hand') is practically essential. If you also want to change the tires on motorcycles, special motorcycle adapters for the clamping claws are also necessary.
Which accessories do I need for my balancing machine in order to be able to balance all wheels?
In addition to the standard centering cones, which are usually included in the scope of delivery, there is a so-called 'Land Rover cone' or truck cone for vans, SUVs and off-road wheels with large Center hole very useful. For rims without a continuous center hole (e.g. on some Peugeot or Citroën models) you need a universal clamping plate or a bolt circle adapter. A quick-release nut also speeds up the entire clamping process considerably.
What else is included in the basic equipment for a professional tire service?
The following are essential: A calibrated torque wrench for the correct wheel tightening, a good impact wrench with plastic-coated power nuts (to protect aluminum rims) and a tire tread depth gauge. You should also always have a supply of assembly paste, new valves (both rubber and metal valves) and wheel chalk for marking wheel positions (e.g. 'VR' for front right).
