The release electromagnet pulls the mechanical safety latch out of the safety rack in the post so that the lift can be lowered. It is installed directly on the locking mechanism inside the post of the Twin Busch TW 236, TW 242, TW 250, and TW 260 and is energized via the lowering button on the control box. If the electromagnet fails, the lift remains locked in the safety position and can no longer be lowered. On 2-post lifts, one release electromagnet is installed per post.
