The plastic insert sits inside the mounting head and is the part that makes direct contact with the rim while the tyre is mounted or demounted. It prevents metal contact and therefore scratches on the rim flange. As a wear part it is replaced once worn so that rim protection is maintained. Colour yellow, original Corghi spare part.
