The solenoid switch is the electrically operated release magnet for the safety locking pawl on the OMA 4-post lifts 526 and 528. During lifting, the locking pawl engages mechanically into the toothed rack and secures the lift against uncontrolled lowering. To lower the lift, the solenoid pulls the pawl out of the teeth and releases the descent. If the pawl no longer disengages or the switching behaviour is faulty, this safety-relevant component must be replaced.
